Google has released official monitoring tool for Gmail. Gmail Notifier works in system tray. You can download it from this site. I personally won't be using it, but some of you might find it interesting.

Changes

It wasn't long wait. Today I have one More actions menu instead on two.

Menu Labels

On some accounts Apply Labels menu was merged with More actions menu. I do not like this change. I prefer separate menus. I wonder when this will change on my account.

Suggest a feature

Gmail lacks some features you need? Tell Google about it here. I voted for my favourites.

Conversations

I accidentally moved one message from conversation to Trash. I moved it back to Inbox but unfortunately it haven't came back to its original conversation. I have to be more careful next time. Anyway it is strange. Shame that Gmail lacks such feature.

Invites

Well, it is very strange. People in Western Countries are begging for Gmail account and here in Poland no one is interested in getting one. Why? It is simple - Polish portals upgraded the size of their mailboxes so no one wants to change email address. Also Gmail is still unfinished product in beta phase and lacks some features...

What is missing?

As for today Gmail IMHO lacks following features:

• ability to choose signatures in compose window
• a. to use alternative nicknames in c. w.
  
• a. to choose Reply-to addresses in c. w.
  
• deleting/moving mails after certain period of time

Gmail-lite

Gmail-lite is a web interface using plain html made as php script. This way users of PDAs and older browsers like Lynx, Internet Explorer 3, Netscape 4, Opera 5 can log in to Gmail account.

Another tool for Gmail users is called GSuite.
