Image preview

From today my account has another new feature - image preview of graphics send as attachments. Thumbnails are displayed in message window. Recognized formats: png, jpg, gif, bmp.

Gmail and POP pt. 2

From today also my account supports POP3. I configured Thunderbird as explained in the instruction. Downloading and sending of messages is working. I have troubles in downloading all my mails because messages are send in batches. In my tests I could download just 560 headers (I haven't dowloaded complete messages). Next time server sent few more and then stopped with "No new mails" message. It is of course not true. Last mail header downloaded by Thunderbird is from August. After few hours server is giving me the same message. I noticed that few mails have changed date. Messages in Spam and Trash folders haven't been downloaded.

Gmail Image Viewer

Gmail Image Viewer is an add-on to Internet Explorer. It displays image attachments in email messages received. It is written in JavaScript and you can download it from: http://www.geocities.com/polynr/gmail/.

Gmail and POP

On some Gmail accounts POP protocol has been enabled. Thanks to this we can download messages using email client. We can configure this option in Forwarding and POP tab. We can set downloading of all mails or just newly arrived ones. Also we can choose what to do with downloaded messages (mails can stay in Gmail's inbox, be moved to Trash or archived).

Report phishing

In options available after clicking More options link in the message window new option has appeared called Report phishing. What is phishing? Check this term in Wikipedia here. Examples of such messages you can find here.
